Prologue

Every weekday at half past nine, a bell rings on a street in New York, and the world starts trading.

At four, it rings again. The floor empties. The money goes home.

Crypto never learned that rhythm. It trades all day and all night, until nothing means anything.

We think a market needs a heartbeat.

So The Floor keeps the old hours. Open with the bell. Closed with the bell. Written into the contract, where nobody can move them.

Six and a half hours to trade.

The rest of the day belongs to the crowd.

So the question is: what happens after dark?

How it works

One session a day

I09:30

Opening bell

The pool unlocks. The first buyer of the day rings the bell.

II09:30 to 16:00

The session

Buy and sell like any coin. Every trade goes on the record.

III16:00

Closing bell

Swaps stop. The closing price gets printed. See you tomorrow.

No switch. The hours are written into the contract, where nobody can move them.

After hours

What happens after the bell

  1. 16:00

    The bell rings

Swaps stop and the pool locks for the night. The after-hours book opens the same second.

  2. Overnight

    Place your order

Bid with ETH to buy at the open, or ask with FLOOR to sell at the open. A live pre-market price shows where the open is heading. Changed your mind? Cancel any time before 09:28.

  3. 09:28

    Orders lock

Two minutes before the bell the book closes. Nothing can be added, pulled or moved.

  4. 09:30

    One price at the bell

Every order fills together, before anyone else can trade. Buyers and sellers meet each other first, and only the difference touches the pool.

    FAQ

    Questions from the floor

Why can't I trade at night?

Because the market is closed. Outside 09:30 to 16:00 New York time, weekends and market holidays, the pool says no.

    Who controls the switch?

    Nobody. The hours are code.

    What does a trade cost?

1% each way, taken in ETH, plus a small 0.3% pool fee.

    Is my money stuck overnight?

Your coins stay in your wallet. You just can't swap them in the pool until the bell.

Can I add or remove liquidity?

Yes, any time, except for a couple of minutes around the opening bell (9:28 until the book fills), when adding and removing both pause.

    What about half days?

Like the real thing. The day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve close at 13:00.
